Top 5 Districts in Tashkent to Buy an Apartment

We break down five districts our clients choose most often — from upscale Yakkasaray to more affordable Chilanzar — and who each one suits best.

Top 5 Districts in Tashkent to Buy an Apartment

Tashkent is made up of 11 administrative districts, and the difference between them is about far more than distance from the center. It's building density, the age of the housing stock, infrastructure, and of course price level. At EuroBrokerGroup we work with properties across the whole city every day, and we've put together five districts our clients choose most often — each for a different reason.

Yunusabad District
The most actively developed district of the last fifteen years: wide avenues, new residential complexes with gated courtyards, parking, and playgrounds, plenty of greenery. A good fit if you're looking for a new build with modern infrastructure and are prepared for a higher budget — Yunusabad consistently ranks among the city's priciest districts for new construction.

Mirzo Ulugbek District
One of the largest districts, stretching along the Anhor canal and the TV tower. Soviet-era microdistricts from the 1970s–80s sit alongside modern complexes here, and several major universities are located in the area. A solid choice if you want proximity to the center without center-of-town prices, or if you're looking for housing near universities.

Yakkasaray District
One of the quietest, greenest central districts: embassies, low-rise buildings, plenty of mature trees. Housing ranges from solid Stalin- and Brezhnev-era buildings to new boutique complexes. Suits buyers looking for a calm location within walking distance of the center and willing to pay a premium for it.

Chilanzar District
Historically one of Tashkent's first large residential districts, built in the 1960s–70s, with a clear grid of microdistricts and excellent metro access (several stations on the Chilanzar line run through it). Housing here is noticeably more affordable than in Yunusabad or Yakkasaray, while well-developed social infrastructure — schools, clinics, markets — makes the district convenient for families with children.

Mirabad District
A central business district: business centers, embassies, and major retail are all nearby. The housing stock is mixed, from older buildings to new business-class high-rises. Mirabad appeals to buyers who want to live within walking distance of work in the city center and don't want a long commute.

Which district is right for you depends on your budget, your family, and what matters most to you — quiet, new construction, affordability, or proximity to the center.
